Flag Day: blktap supportDate: Mon, 29 Sep 2008 23:01:22 -0400 From: Mark Johnson <Mark.Johnson at sun dot com> To: onnv-gate at onnv dot eng dot sun dot com, on-all at sun dot com Subject: Flag Day: blktap support You can safely ignore this heads-up message if you do not use a xVM dom0. The putback for: PSARC/2008/596 Block Tap Support for Solaris PSARC/2008/597 vdiskadm 6539533 Solaris dom0 needs blktap support 6670055 xVM Server needs to support VMDK file format introduced blktap support for disk backends. If you use virt-install and update your xVM packages, you must also BFU to the matching onnv pieces. However, you can safely BFU to current onnv bits without having to update the xVM packages. You just won't be able to use blktap. If you have any questions or problems, please contact me. Thanks, Mark |
